Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS YOUR BOOKING AND PAYMENT POLICY?
Projects are booked on a first come, first serve basis. To reserve a spot on the schedule, a 50% non-refundable retainer is required. Your remaining balance will be due upon approval of the final design, and once received, delivery of finalized design files and/or website launch occurs. Other payment plans considered, per special request. I utilize a payment system and will provide you with your own personal account that will house all invoices and financial transactions. My system accepts PayPal, credit/debit card payments.
WHAT IS YOUR SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY?
Our current schedule availability is always posted at the bottom of this page and is updated regularly as we receive new bookings. While you wait for your project’s start date to arrive, you will be completing our project questionnaire and/or compiling your content for your new website and/or marketing collateral, if applicable.
TURNAROUND TIME?
Complete branding projects involving logo, web, and print design can take up to 6-8 weeks to complete. If your project only includes part of these services, the average turnaround will range from 2-6 weeks depending on the scope of the work. Projects are assigned timelines at booking, which are strictly enforced. Extensions will be subject to additional billing. Our schedule is meticulously planned in order to ensure all clients receive the care and attention they deserve.
HOW WILL WE COMMUNICATE DURING OUR PROJECT?
Most clients prefer email, while others like phone/Skype. We prefer email; however,  we will always be readily available…responding to messages as soon as possible and making sure you’re always up-to-date on the current status of your project.
HOW MANY DESIGN CONCEPTS AND REVISIONS ARE INCLUDED?
For logo projects, you are presented with three initial design concepts. For web and print items, one design mockup is created. Up to three rounds of revisions are available for any type of project. Requests for additional edits beyond this (although rarely needed) are billed at $90 per hour (one hour minimum).
WHAT TYPES OF FILES WILL I RECEIVE AT THE END OF MY PROJECT?
Finalized logos are provided in both vector and raster format – JPG, PNG, PSD, EPS. Marketing collateral pieces are delivered as PDF files. Clients are provided a list of the fonts used in their projects; however, due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to provide the actual font files.
DO YOU HANDLE THE PRINTING OF MY MATERIALS?
It’s completely optional, but we do LOVE when clients ask us to oversee the printing of their items! We can utilize our expertise and our network of trusted vendors to ensure that the job gets done right and showcases the designs we’ve created in the best way possible. There is an additional fee for this service, and we’re happy to provide you with a custom quote based upon your specific printing needs.
WILL I BE ABLE TO MAKE UPDATES TO MY NEW SITE?
Most definitely! Our clients find the WordPress content management system that we use to be very user-friendly. At project completion, you’ll be provided with an instructional guide. You’ll also receive two weeks of complimentary support, during which time you can schedule an optional training session.
WHAT IS WEB HOSTING?
Web hosting is the server space with a web company where your files are placed. I upload these files to the host server and they are able to be read through a web browser (such as Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc. This server space is often referred to as web hosting. Many people get hosting and registration mixed up. Domain registration is when you buy the domain name e.g. “yourdomainname.com”. You need both web hosting and domain registration to have a website. Please note that these expenses are not included in your quote unless you specify that you are interested in having me set these things up for you as well.
WILL MY SITE EXPERIENCE ANY DOWNTIME?
Your current site will remain active until we are ready to officially launch your new design at the end of your project. Typically, there’s only a few minutes of downtime while we switch out designs. However, if you are also transferring web hosts, domain names, etc., that may extend your transition period some since DNS (domain name servers) can take up to 48 hours to propagate.
